GLADSTONE - The Gladstone High School graduates of 1947 held their 65-year class reunion Saturday evening, Sept. 1 at the Terrace Bay Inn. Of a graduating class of 74 students, 44 have died.
Those attending were: Ronald Anderson, Billie Jean Heslip-Marmalick, Donald LaCroix, Jane Tufnell-Peterson, Doug Wescott, Williard Young, all of Gladstone, Maureen (Agnes) Cannon of Eagan, Minn., Arthur ("Ine") Cornell of Osterville, Mass., Carol Cowen-Fawcett of Eau Claire, Wis., Margaret Kinmond-Balog of Manistique, Nancy LaFond-Provo of Rapid River, Joyce LeRoux-Beaudoin, Catherine (Katie) Rose-Roll, Patricia Willette-Gafner, all of Escanaba, Dorothy Lund-Ziesemer of Kenosha, Wis., Pauline Sarasin-Young of Sacramento, Calif.
Also attending was Marcia (Pauline) Johnson-Lane of Andersonville, Mich. Although her family moved from Gladstone in 1942 when she was a freshman, she has kept in contact with her former classmates.
Fourteen classmates were unable to attend: Donna Aicher-Pyke, Charlotte "Chickie" Beck-Trekas, Marilyn Bergman-Conger, Mary Closs-Larson, Michael Creten, Phyllis Darion-Boucher, Carole Hendrickson-Hoadley, Beverly "Dot" Henrikson-Lambert, Janet Olson-Nitinen, Victor Pearson, William "Bill" Schram, Arthur Thivierge, Eugene Timler, and Marcella VanDonsel-Sly.
