HARRIS - The Bark River-Harris Broncos had two sets that were a little too close for comfort, but they managed to pull together on the volleyball court and defeat the Munising Mustangs 3-0.

The matchup was not without its fair share of drama, but every time the game got close, the Broncos seemed to pull together and do what needed to be done to seal the victory.

"I think my girls played really well tonight," said Broncos coach John Jorasz. "They've made a big improvement from last week, (and they're) just playing like more of a team out there."

Jorasz added that one of the things that his team did extremely well was moving the ball, as well as following the ball and getting good hits off of Munising serves.

For having such a short-handed squad with only seven players on the varsity team, Munising definitely wasn't going to go home without a fight. They were down six points in the first set and nearly came back, drawing to within three.

In the third set, BR-H was up 24-13, when Munising staged one last comeback run to get the score to 24-20 before the Broncos took the final point and the victory.

We have a tendency of being able to pull together as a team," said Munising coach Myra Lloyd, in regards to her team's near-comeback in the last set. "(But) If there's some individual breakdowns, then that kind of gets rid of the gel factor, and sometimes that will kind of put a nail in the coffin."

Bark River-Harris resumes Thursday when they host Big Bay de Noc at 6 p.m.
