ESCANABA - Just three days after possibly the top two singles players in the U.P. faced off in the Kingsford invitational, Escanaba's Codi Jenshak and Kingsford's Sam Fleming were back battling on the tennis court Tuesday.
Unlike Saturday's match that went to three sets with a lengthy tiebreaker, Jenshak won handily this time around, defeating Fleming 6-0, 6-1 to remain undefeated this season.
"Codi turned in an outstanding performance," said Esky coach Dennis Lueneburg. "She's making good decisions on the court.

Braedyn Bosilovatz runs into position for a return shot at No. 1 doubles Tuesday. Bosilovatz and Cathryn Wood won their match 4-6, 6-1, 6-2.
"Our other singles players were simply overmatched, but they continue to work hard."
Escanaba played Kingsford to a 4-4 draw, boosted by their doubles teams who wheld their own to neutralize the Flivvers' advantage in singles play.
At No. 1 doubles Braedyn Bosilovatz and Cathryn Wood edged Anna Shanks and Kate Lamy in a three-set match 4-6, 6-1, 6-2.
Escanaba's No. 2 doubles pairing of Zoe Berquist and Jalyn Dagenais fell for the first time this season in a dual-meet. In the most hotly contested match of the day, Kingsford's Janay Walters and Ali VanRemortel came out on top 2-6, 6-3, 7-6.
"Zoe and Jalyn staged a nice comeback in the third set and finished just a little short," said Lueneburg. "They didn't quit and made their opponents play to the very end."
Escanaba's Audrey Wilson and Breanna Dault rolled 6-2, 6-3 over Abby Johnson and Megan VanPembrook at No. 3 doubles and Shelby Gregoire and Olivia Berquist won in two fiercely contested matches 7-5, 7-5 over Kingsford duo Taylor Jacobson and Jaelyn Jennings at No. 4 doubles.
"As a whole, our doubles played their best of the season," said Lueneburg.
