An early 1900 Labor Day celebration photograph, above, was a puzzle when it first surfaced in Gladstone. A seemingly suspended plane flying low over the buildings seemed to attract practically no attention from the crowd. Could it be a fake plane?
Another photograph also surfaced, with people in the exact same positions but a different type of airplane in the sky. It appears that even early 1900 photographers knew how to pull a little stunt by doctoring up a photo.
