BESSEMER - A man has been arrested on homicide charges in connection to the disappearance and death of a Bessemer woman earlier this month.
According to a news release from Gogebic County Sheriff Pete Matonich, officers from the Gogebic County Sheriff's Department and the Michigan State Police arrested a 50-year-old Bessemer man on homicide charges Wednesday night in connection with the disappearance and death of Ethel Grzena/Peters, 79, also of Bessemer.
Grzena/Peters had last been seen in Bessemer on the evening of Aug. 3.
Her body was recovered on Aug. 13 in Watersmeet Township following extensive search and investigation.
The suspect is currently lodged in Gogebic County Jail. His name is not being released pending his arraignment.
Cash bond has been set at $1 million. No further details were being released as of this morning.
