Ferris releases honors honors list
BIG RAPIDS - University officials have announced that more than 4,000 students received Academic Honors for the semester that ended in May 2012 at Ferris State University and Kendall College of Art and Design.
To be eligible for Academic Honors, undergraduate students must have accumulated at least a 3.5 GPA in no fewer than 12 credit hours of coursework at the 100 level or higher during the given semester, while part-time students must have accumulated at least 12 credit hours of graded coursework at the 100 level or higher with a 3.5 semester GPA and a 3.3 cumulative GPA.
The following local students have been named on the Honors list:
CARNEY - Kimberly Betters.
CURTIS - Andrea Volz.
ESCANABA - Matthew Manninen, Danielle Leisner, Jill Leisner, and Jenna Smith.
FELCH - Meakayla Christian.
GLADSTONE - Charles Stafford, Shannon King, Tammy Lyberg, David Kallio, Jamie Leisner, and Alison Tourangeau.
Marcoe authors research journal
EAST LANSING - Jeffrey Paul Marcoe was recently published as the primary author in "Nature Immunologist," a scientific research journal, for his work at the University of Michigan on the effects of TGF -beta on natural killer cell maturation and development.
Jeffrey is the son of Dr. Gregory and Gail (Neubauer) Marcoe, formerly of Escanaba, and grandson of Rene and Joanne Marcoe and June Sanville. He is in his second year of medical school at MSU-CHM in East Lansing.
