Ferris announces May graduates
BIG RAPIDS - Approximately 1,980 students completed the requirements for certificates, associate, bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees at Ferris State University and Kendall College of Art and Designduring the semester that ended in May 2012.
BARK RIVER - Lucas Hanson, small business management (certificate); Lucas Hanson, surveying engineering (bachelor's), cum laude.
CARNEY - Kimberly Betters, pharmacy, PD, highest distinction.
ESCANABA - Holly Laplante, respiratory care (associate's), cum laude; Danielle Leisner, communication?(bachelor's), magna cum laude; Jill Leisner, optometry (doctor of optometry); Nicole Nelson, nuclear medicine technology (bachelor's); Jenna Smith, dental hygiene (associates), magna cum laude.
GLADSTONE - David Kallio, biochemistry (bachelor's).
POWERS - Eric Kleiman, criminal justice law enforcement (bachelor's).
RAPID RIVER - Jake Nicholson, pre-criminal justice (associate's).
Students graduating with honors were recognized for high academic achievement on the basis of GPAs computed on a 4.0 scale; summa cum laude, 3.9 to 4.0; magna cum laude, 3.75 to 3.89; and cum laude, 3.5 to 3.74.
