ESCANABA - The Escanaba girls secured their first team tennis victory of the season, Monday in a dual meet with Marquette and Menominee. Escanaba fell to Marquette 5-3 but clipped Menominee by the same score.

"The girls are trying," said coach Dennis Lueneburg. "Along with their progress, we see parts of their game exposed that still needs lots of attention. Overall though, I"m happy with their efforts."

Codi Jenshak at No. 1 singles and Zoe Berquist and Jalyn Dagenais at No. 2 doubles each remained undefeated in the young season. Jenshak had an outstanding day, defeating Marquette's Madeline Gardiner 6-0, 6-0 before rolling over Molly Jackson of Menominee by the same score.
