Area students awarded GSVU degrees

ALLENDALE - Area residents are among the almost 4,000 students who earned degrees from Grand Valley State University during the last academic year.

The names of Grand Valley's most recent graduates, graduating Fall 2011 in December, or Winter 2012 in April, are as follows:

BARK RIVER - Natasha R. White, bachelor of science.

COOKS - David C. Hopp, bachelor of science.

ESCANABA - Justin J. Grabowski, Jenny L. Knight, James R. LaFleur, and Timothy G. Schumann, bachelor of science; and Denise J. Hawley and Philip J. VanElsacker, bachelor of arts.

FELCH - Drew P. Vista, bachelor of science.

GLADSTONE - Timothy E. Bassett and Michelle M. Thomas, bachelor of arts; Joshua S. Sargent, bachelor of business administration; and Kaili M. Walker, master's in physician assistant studies.

GWINN - Jenna L. Ghiringhelli, master of social work.

MANISTIQUE - Kimberly L. Jenerou, bachelor of science, and Lisa M. Selling, bachelor of business administration.

MENOMINEE - Jordan L. Armstrong, bachelor of fine arts, and Matt A. LaFleur, bachelor of arts.


Prebish completes podiatric surgical residency

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - Jessica Prebish DPM, recently completed her three year surgical residency in podiatric medicine and surgery at Kaiser Permanete in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Dr. Prebish is a 2001 graduate of Escanaba High School and the daughter of Bill and Gina Prebish of Escanaba. Jessica completed her pre-medical degree at Northern Michigan University in 2005.

She received her medical degree from Midwestern University in Glendale, Ariz. in 2009.

Dr. Prebish has joined a practice in Phoenix, Ariz. where she will specialize in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery.
