ESCANABA - Robert Lowell Robinson, 80, of 1108 2nd. Ave. S., Escanaba, Mich., passed away Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, at Christian Park Village in Escanaba. He was born Jan. 14, 1932, in Viroqua, Wis., and was the son of Sherman and Bernice Robinson. Bob attended college at Pasadena City College in Pasadena, Calif., and later at Michigan Technological University in Houghton.
He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1954 and received extensive training in electronics and radar repair serving in England where he earned the rank of staff sergeant in charge of radar maintenance on radar sites. After he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force Bob returned to college and graduated from Northern Michigan University with a bachelor's of science degree. Bob worked for Escanaba Abstract and Title Company and later with G. Arntzen and Company Architects as an engineering system designer, designing many electrical and plumbing systems for commercial type buildings throughout the Upper Peninsula. Bob was a well known musician in this area and played guitar and bass guitar with several jazz and country bands through the years.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 16, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Robert Lowell Robinson will be held at noon Thursday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Margery Host officiating. Burial will take place in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
