Businesses help community projects

August 10, 2012
Daily Press

This week's bouquets go to:

From Lakestate Industries:

On July 20, the Lakestate Industries Company Picnic was held at the Great Lakes Gun Club. This year it was a huge success, thanks to the generosity of local businesses and individuals, organizers said. The company expressed its gratitude for donations, both large and small. "Every year our clients look forward to the company picnic and this year everyone won a prize," an organizer said. "There is nothing more heart warming to see than the smile on their faces when their name is called and they win a prize." The company's 2012 company picnic sponsors are listed on the Lakestate Industries website, www.lakestateindustries.org.

From the Gladstone School and Public Library:

"We would like to thank all of the area businesses and patrons who helped make our summer reading program a huge success. We appreciate their support to enhance literacy in our community."

From Gabe Ostrenga and Mike Whitman, Boy Scouts of Troop 414:

"We would like to thank Mr. Bob Bosk of Bosk Rental and Ed Kuper of U.S. 41 Lumber for the donation of equipment and materials that were used in refurnishing 22 picnic tables in Ludington Park. Their generosity allowed us to complete our Eagle Scout projects, which will be used by the Escanaba community."

Each Saturday the Daily Press salutes individuals and groups from our area who have had a very positive impact on the way we live.

We identify our bouquet recipients in one of two ways: from Daily Press news pages and from nominations sent in by our readers.

Mail us a postcard or letter identifying your nomination and putting into detail what they've done. Include your name, address, and phone number. Send nominations to Saturday Bouquets, The Daily Press, 600 Ludington Street, Escanaba, MI 49829.

They may also be sent to us by going to our Web site, www.dailypress.net, and clicking on the submit news button. Once there, click on "Bouquets" and follow the simple instructions.
