Esky resident receives Mary Mount scholarship
MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Mollee Ostrenga, daughter of Steve and Caralee Ostrenga of Escanaba, has been awarded the Dean's Scholarship to Mount Mary College for the 2012-2013 school year.
The Dean's Scholarship is a renewable award, presented to a talented student who has exhibited exceptional academic achievements and leadership qualities.
The Dean's Scholarship continues to build on the College's reputation of quality education by supporting deserving students who strive toward excellence in themselves.
Mollee, a 2012 graduate of Escanaba High School, will be a first-year student at Mount Mary this fall with plans to major in fashion production and design.
"We're delighted Mollee has selected Mount Mary College to pursue her dream of earning a degree," said Eileen Schwalbach, PhD., president of Mount Mary College. "We awarded Mollee a Dean's Scholarship based on her application, achievements, and outstanding potential. Mollee is an exceptional woman who is focused on her education, has strong leadership skills and believes in Mount Mary's mission of social justice."
Marcoe earns MSU master's degree
EAST LANSING - Jessica Lynn Marcoe recently earned a master's degree in public health from Michigan State University. She is now attending medical school at MSU-COM in East Lansing.
Her brother, Jeffrey Paul Marcoe is also in medical school. Jeffrey is in his second year at MSU-CHM.
Jeffrey and Jessica are the children of former Escanaba residents, Dr. Gregory and Gail Marcoe who reside in Midland.
