Escanaba couple celebrates golden wedding anniversary

ESCANABA - Bill LaMarch and the former Janet Bink were united in Holy Matrimony 50 years ago on Aug. 11, 1962, at St. Joseph Church in Escanaba.

The couple celebrated their anniversary with a reception held at Marco's Star Light Room in Escanaba.

During the LaMarch's original wedding ceremony, Kathy Finn, a friend of the bride, and Frank Bink, brother of the bride, stood as maid of honor and best man for the couple. Donna Erickson, a friend of the bride, was the bridesmaid and Ronald Bink, brother of the bride, was the groomsman.

Bill is active in the Marine Corps League, U.P. Whitetails Association, Wildlife Unlimited, DAV, Elks Lodge 354, and American Legion 82. He retired from Mead in 1999.

Janet retired as an L.P.N. in 1999. She enjoys spending time scrapbooking, fishing, and going to most of her grandchildren's activities.

The couple are the parents of three children, Debra Ann Micheau of Gladstone, Jean Blaine of Savage, Minn., and William F. LaMarch of Escanaba.

They also have seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
