MARQUETTE - Anthony Leonard Eagle, 46, of Marquette and former Escanaba resident, passed away Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

He was born Jan. 2, 1966, in Escanaba and was the son of Leonard and Belinda (Papineau) Eagle.

Tony graduated from Escanaba High School and furthered his studies at Northern Michigan University receiving his bachelor's degree in sociology and later social work.

He had a passion for helping ex-offenders transition back into society. Tony was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Marquette, the Superior Chapter of the Harley Owners Group of Marquette, and he loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Anthony Leonard Eagle is survived by: children, Josh Eagle of Rapid River, Anthony Eagle Jr. of Baraga, Nicole Eagle of Baraga, Ethan Halverson of Baraga, and Chelsea Halverson of Baraga; grandchildren, Nicolas, Antonio, Aydin, Devin, Alijah, Laniceya, Ava and Anjeni; mother, Belinda Eagle of Escanaba; grandparents, John and Joyce Picard of Wells; sister, Elaine "Sissy" Eagle of Escanaba; brothers, Stephen Eagle of Escanaba, Jamie Eagle of Escanaba; love of Tony's life, Jessica Siedlecki of Marquette and her children, Dustyn, Brandyn and Bridget; former wives, Janice Halverson (mother of Tony's children) of Baraga and Denise Eagle of Marinette; special friend, Debbie Calouette of Escanaba; uncles, Kim (Judy) Papineau of Escanaba, Brent (Donna) Papineau of Escanaba, Terry (Cindy) Papineau of Escanaba; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Anthony Leonard Eagle will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Kim Spencer officiating.

A reception will follow the funeral services. Burial will take place in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
