Daniel ‘Dan’ S. Dyer
Dan worked at Independent Machine Company until creating his own business U.P. Sourcing, which he ran until his retirement.
Dan was an excellent salesman and many of his clients became friends for life.
Dan was a funny, kind and loving friend to all, and he made friends everywhere he went.
Dan loved visiting with friends and family, especially by a bonfire. He also enjoyed old westerns, gardening, cooking, watching birds and wildlife. Dan also enjoyed taking long drives in the country with no particular destination. Just like he did as a child with his parents, he'd say "let's just see what we find." He was also an avid Lions fan and enjoyed spending time at the family homestead in Petoskey. He also was a lover of classic rock.
Dan was heaven sent and has been returned to sender.
Dan is survived by his sons, Ben Dyer of Gladstone and Andy Dyer of Duluth, Minn. He is further survived by four sisters, Carol Shermoe, Rockford, Mich., Virginia (Roger) Jeffers, Charlotte, Mich., Kathy (Gary) McCrum, Collierville, Tenn., Teresa (Rick) Stowers, Washington Township, Mich.; two brothers, Jim Dyer of Holt, Mich., Kraig (Amy) Dyer of Gladstone; brother-in-law, Jim White of East Lansing and numerous nieces and nephews.
