ESCANABA - Ron and Sandra Pilon celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house reception at their home in Escanaba on June 30. The reception was hosted by the couple's two sons.
Ron and the former Sandra Maynard were united in Holy Matrimony on May 26, 1962, during a ceremony held at All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was Lois (Maynard) Pinar, sister of the bride. Bridesmaid's were Mary Lou (Anderson) Schwentz and Sharon (LaCrosse) Ryan, both friends of the bride. Standing with the groom as best man was the late Jim Pilon, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Jerry Pilon, brother of the groom, and the late Lloyd Olson, a friend of the groom.

As a couple, the Pilons are members of Eagles Club and RSVP. In addition, Sandy is a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, St. Francis Auxiliary, and NARFE, and Ron is a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. He retired from Mead Paper in 1996.
The Pilon's are the parents of three children, Michael (Julie) of Rapid River, Matthew (Darlene) of Albuquerque, N.M., and the late Marcia Jones. The couple also has eight grandchildren.
