For the second year, students from the Black Dragon Martial Arts Club in Gwinn presented a check to the Youth Assistance Program of Delta County. The $1500 donation was raised this year at the "U.P. to the Challenge" Martial Art Tournament held in May at the YMCA of Delta County. Taking part in the program are: from left front, Azlyn Wills, Julie Johnson, Nicholas Savola, and Seth Quayle; back, Instructor Tina Fuller, Damian Johnson, Mike Sirois, Instructor Tavaree Kovach and Rita Savola. Fuller, who organized the event, hopes it continues to grow as it is both a challenging and charitable experience for participants, including parents and volunteers. Next year's tournament is scheduled for May 18, 2013.
