Mildred L. Hagman

GLADSTONE - Mildred L. Hagman, 88, passed away peacefully, at her home in Gladstone, Sunday afternoon, July 22, 2012, surrounded by her loving family.

Mildred was born Jan. 17, 1924, in Gladstone, the daughter of Axel and Alma Skoglund. She was raised in Gladstone where she attended the Gladstone schools.

On Aug. 29, 1942, Mildred was united in marriage to Norman A. Hagman. Following Norman's discharge from the military, the couple made their home and raised their family in Gladstone. Norman preceded Mildred in death on March 23, 2009, following 66 years of marriage.

Throughout her life, Mildred enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was an amazing seamstress and a very creative person and will be deeply missed by her entire family.

Survivors include her daughters, Cheryl (Joseph) Bernier of Escanaba, Susan Hamilton of Fishers, Ind.; grandchildren, Cynthia (John) Kelly, Deborah (Andrew) Jamrog, Angela (Jason) Lewis, Catherine Bernier, Kristy (Danny) Goodwin, Jeffery (Kimberly) Hamilton, Tarah (Steve) Heitman and Nadine (Tom) Duchene. Also listed among the surviving family are 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Axel and Alma; and her husband, Norman; Mildred was preceded in death by her sister, Elsie Helgemo; and brothers, Hilding and Roland Skoglund.

To honor Mildred's wishes, private visitation and funeral services will be conducted at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone with Rev. Fr. Rick Courier officiating. Mildred will be laid to rest, next to her husband Norman, in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells.
