Margaret M. Taylor

MANISTIQUE - Margaret M. Taylor, 91, of Dawson Road, Manistique, Mich., died July 19, 2012 at the home of her daughter Barbara, in St. John, Ind.

She was born April 19, 1921, in Manistique, the daughter of James and Jessie (Johnson) Neeson and attended Manistique area schools. She was a graduate of Manistique High School with the Class of 1939.

In June of 1941, the former Margaret M. Neeson married Cecil F. Taylor in Manistique and they made their home and raised their family in Manistique.

Margaret was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Manistique. She was also a member and Past President of the Manistique Women's Club and a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Ida Chapter 54 Order of the Eastern Star. She was also active in the Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Hiawatha Goodwill Club.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Cecil F. Taylor of Manistique; daughter, Barbara (Robert) Johnson of St. John, Ind.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Jeanette Meraw of Royal Oak and Laura Johns of Traverse City; along with nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Dr. James F. Taylor in 2003, her sister, Dorothy Maher; and her brother, Glenn Neeson.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Manistique.

Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Reverend David Hueter officiating. Entombment will be held in the Gardens of Rest Memorial Park in Wells, Mich. The Messier-Broullire Funeral Home of Manistique is assisting the family with the arrangements.
