EDITOR:

I would like to share my thoughts about "Pick Rick Micheau for Delta County Treasurer." I knew Rick as a boy, and I know him now as a man. As a child he was already so concerned about others. When he was about 10 years old, he would walk to his great-grandmother's house to play cards with her every week because he knew she was lonely.

Rick was always helping others and still does to this day. When I moved back here from Arizona almost 20 years ago, he was there for me. He gave me a job in his adult foster care home and helped me in many ways. He also helped my sister when she moved back here. His house and his heart are always open and looking for ways to help people.

Rick also has a heart for people with challenges. He believes that everybody needs to feel loved, special, and useful. He does volunteer work whenever he can. A couple of weeks ago he volunteered his time at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Traveling Wall. It's amazing to me how much he fits it all in. He works three part-time jobs, owns two businesses, attends college full-time and raises two kids half-time.

Rick loves numbers and has great organizational skills. He will always stand up for what he believes in and is truly a great role model. I love the acronym that Rick is using for his campaign, it says it all. R.I.C.K. Responsibility, Integrity, Community, Knowledge.
