The Aug. 7 primary will decide two important races in Delta County. The first being, County Commissioner for District 3 and the second, two Delta County Road Commissioner seats.
First of all, I would encourage you to get out and vote. Very few Delta County residents vote during the primary. During times of decreasing budgets and current economic conditions it is even more important. Take time to evaluate each candidate, do background checks of past voting records if available, candidate knowledge, experience, and if the individual will promote their own agenda or yours.
This is why I would ask you to support with your vote; Mary Harrington for County Commissioner in District 3; Bob Aschbacher and Mike Larrabee for County Commissioners. I attend almost every bimonthly meeting of the Delta County Board of Commissioners and have watched and listened to Mrs. Harrington use common sense, support the people's agenda (not hers), and make decisions based on sound economic responsibility.
Being a road commissioner myself I have watched Mr. Larrabee's passion and commitment for your local road system. Mike presently represents us on statewide road committees so the Yoopers have input in Lansing. Mr. Aschbacher has attended almost every road commission meeting (bimonthly) for the past five months to educate himself on road matters here in Delta County.
In my opinion we need these three individuals to represent us (citizens of Delta County) during the challenging times ahead. Please consider casting your vote for these three individuals (Harrington, Larrabee, and Aschbacher) and our vote will contribute to a brighter future for Delta County.
