ESCANABA - A 70-year-old Gladstone man - charged with felonious assault - was bound over to Delta County Circuit Court when he waived his preliminary hearing in district court this week.

Wayne Martin Samson, 70, of 6890 U.S. 41, Gladstone, was arrested on June 4 after he allegedly threatened a male victim with a shotgun while the two had a disagreement at the suspect's property.

The gun was not discharged and no one was injured, according to the Delta County Sheriff Department which responded to the 3:18 a.m. incident.

Samson was arrested at the scene and lodged in the county jail. He was released after posting a $5,000 cash bond.

He is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon (felonious assault), a four-year felony, and possession of a firearm while under the influence, a 93-day misdemeanor.
