ESCANABA - The eighth annual Walk in the Park for Brain Tumor Research will be held Saturday, July 21, at Ludington Park in Escanaba. The walk begins at 10 a.m. with a memorial balloon release. From 9 to 10 a.m. is on-site registration, bake sale with home-baked breakfast items and coffee, and silent auction.
People of all ages are welcome to walk a two-mile loop along the lake, or follow their own path as they are able. Kids may bring bikes, scooters, skates, or skateboards and participate in the Kids' Ride. Registration is $25 adults, $10 kids, and all proceeds benefit the Upper Michigan Brain Tumor Center (UMBTC) at Marquette General Hospital, a non-profit organization at the forefront of treatment and research.
