MANISTIQUE - Manistique Bible Church has announced the calling of Pastor Dave Chambers to be the new pastor of the church.

Dave and his wife, Ruth, have been married since 1999, and they have three children. Dave and his family have been Manistique residents since 2001, and he served at Manistique Bible Church for several years before stepping into traveling ministry in 2006. He has served a number of Upper Peninsula churches as a pastor and evangelist for the past 13 years.

Pastor Chambers feels the Lord has seen fit to bring his church helps ministry back into Manistique for a time. He has been preaching at the church since March, and in June, the church voted to call him to be their full time pastor.

The pastor's desire is to lead the church through a time of spiritual renewal. He is committed to the truth that the Bible has the answer for every problem and need of life. His ministry is expected to be one of preaching, teaching and applying the Bible in such a way that folks understand what it says and understand how they should live as a result.

Manistique Bible Church was started in 2000 and, in 2004, built the church building in Thompson. From the very beginning, the church's passion has been to show God's greatness and importance. The church's message is the message of Christ, the truth that salvation is received only through personal and complete dependence on Jesus for forgiveness of sin. The parishioners' desire is to be disciples of Christ, radically obedient to His commands found in His Word.
