PETOSKEY - Frances "Finny" Londo, 84, of Petoskey died Friday, July 6, 2012, at her Petoskey residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. The Fr. Dennis Stilwell will officiate. Burial will be at Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Escanaba.
Frances was born Nov. 7, 1927, in Escanaba, the daughter of John and Doris Finn. She grew up in Escanaba and attended and graduated from Escanaba High School in 1945.
On June 19, 1948, she married Clarence Londo in Escanaba. Her husband preceded her in death Jan. 9, 2010.
Frances lived most of her life in Escanaba where she worked for the Bell Telephone Co. as a information operator. In 1983 she took a transfer to Grand Rapids, Mich., where she continued to work for Bell Telephone until her retirement. In 2010, she moved to Petoskey and has lived there since.
She loved her flowers and always had a colorful flower garden around her home.
She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Petoskey.
Frances is survived by two children, Deborah Short and her husband, Dave of Riva, Md., Tim Londo and his wife, Carol of Petoskey; five grandchildren, Allison O'Connell and her husband, Brendan, Daniel Short and his wife, Jessica, Ian Londo and his wife, Courtnay, Courtney Voelker and her husband, Dave, and Zach Londo; four great-grandchildren, Bailey and Blake O'Connell, Leland Londo and Linkin Voelker; sister Bernice Miron of Lansing, Mich.; brothers, Jack Finn of Midland and Jim Finn of Milwaukee, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.
Anyone wishing to contribute in memory of Frances may make contributions to the American Cancer Society. Visitation for Frances was held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Stone Funeral Home.
