Newly elected officers for 2012-13 of the Floriano-Stecker American Legion Post 340 of Hermansville were recently installed at the American Legion club rooms in Hermansville. Installing officer was George Maciejewski of Carney-Nadeau American Legion Post 487, the newly elected commander of the 11th district of the American Legion. On hand for installation ceremony were: from left, Patches Sullivan, judge advocate; Walter Bellmore, who filled in as historian; Alex Framarin, chaplain; Dennis Trudell, finance officer; Ted Gurgall, 1st vice commander; George Maciejewski, installation officer; Don Bird, 2nd vice commander; James Wash, commander; Gilbert Vandenhouten, sergeant-at-arms; and Joseph Bouchard, adjutant. Eighteen legionnaires attended the meeting-socializing with past commander, Ted Gurgall, furnishing the snacks and coffee.
The members of the Floriano-Stecker American Legion Post 340 of Hermansville approved a donation of $500 to the Hermansville Fireworks Committee to be used for the July 4 fireworks. On hand for the presentation are Dennis Trudell, finance officer of Post 340, left, and Patrick Dani, chief of the Meyer Township Volunteer Fire Department.
