Don’t blame the unemployed

June 28, 2012
Daily Press

EDITOR:

Each time we as a nation work our way out of a depression or recession, we invest in cops, firefighters, teachers, construction workers who fix roads and bridges, and all manner of other things that build the economy and the country.

Ronald Reagan did it in the 1980s, but Dan Benishek would rather blame workers for being unemployed than lift a finger to bring resources and development plans to his district.

If you don't believe me, read the story in the June 13th Daily Press about his trip through the district and all the great things he's supposedly learning.

Elected officials that blame the woes of the economy on the unemployed are standing in the way of putting people to work to fix things that so desperately need attention in this once great country. I say We the People should put in someone who will put the needs of the unemployed and the 99 percent over the undemocratic desires of the 1 percent.
