GLADSTONE - Michael W. Marmalick, 55, of 806 Montana Ave., Gladstone, passed away Wednesday evening, June 20, 2012, at his home, following a lengthy illness.
Mike was born Feb. 28, 1957, in Escanaba, the son of Wayne and Joyce (Farrell) Marmalick. He was raised in Gladstone and was a 1975 graduate of the Gladstone High School. On Dec. 18, 1976, Mike was united in marriage to the former Lori Nelson and together the couple made their home and raised their family in Gladstone.
Throughout his life, Mike was employed at Mead Paper Corp. (NewPage Corp.) until his health began to fail in recent years. Mike enjoyed a variety of professional sports, especially Green Bay Packer Football. In addition, he enjoyed golfing, hunting and spending time with his dogs. He will be deeply missed.

Survivors include Mike's mother, Joyce Marmalick; son, Paul (Laura Curran) Marmalick of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; daughter, Jenn (Adam) Peterson of Robinsdale, Minn.; brother, Matt (Wendy) Marmalick of Gladstone,; sisters,Theresa (Rick) LaFleur of Gladstone, Mary (Dennis Darling) Marmalick of Gladstone, Patti (Dave) Nyberg of Gladstone, Marcia (Clint) Dunathan Hortonville; former wife and friend, Lori Marmalick of Gladstone. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Marmalick.
Michael's family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Michael W. Marmalick will follow visiting hours, at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, at the Skradski Funeral Home, with Pastor Paul Strom of the Salem Lutheran Church in Bark River, officiating. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Marmalick family with arrangements.
