Former resident is guest preacher

ESCANABA - Former Escanaba resident, Tom Olson, will guest preach at First Presbyterian Church on Sunday. A native of Escanaba, son of Gump and Irene Olson, Olson is a 1965 graduate of Escanaba High School.

He has lived in St. Ignace where he was an educator at St. Ignace LaSalle High School, and Humble, Texas, where he is presently a teacher in the district's Discipline Program.

Tom has also served in various capacities through the years at Presbytery Point Camp and Conference Center in Michigamme.

Olson will preach the message entitled, "I'm a Rider On the Main Line," during the morning worship service at 9:30 a.m. Hymnody will include "Stand Up, Stand Up For Jesus" and "Onward Christian Soldiers." Liturgist Maggie DeHaan will co-lead the service with Olson.

Childcare is available in the nursery from 9-11 a.m. The public is welcomed. Fellowship Hour follows in the fellowship hall.
