A helping hand for Santa?

Vicki Snyder's kindergarten class at North Central Area Schools and Andrea Chaney's class from Carney/Nadeau Schools recently visited the tree farm owned by Eric and Kitty Treichel. The children learned how to plant trees by helping Eric Treichel spade a hole and then placing the tree roots straight down into the hole and stepping the ground gently, but firmly around each tree they planted.

One of the youngsters shows off her newly planted tree. Every year for the past 13 years, the students from area schools have come for a Christmas tree for their classes. They have been invited back to the farm for the past four years to “help” Mr. Eric and Miss Kitty plant trees for Santa.
