MENOMINEE - A Porterfield man remains lodged in the Menominee County Jail on charges connected to a recent armed robbery in Menominee, according to court and jail officials.

David A. Laluzerne, 23, was arrested last week in connection with a robbery at the Smoke Shop on 10th Avenue on the afternoon of May 26. He remains lodged in jail on a $25,000 bond.

On Monday, Laluzerne was arraigned on charges related to the robbery, according to Menominee County District Court records. He was charged with armed robbery and a felon weapons charge on a complaint from Menominee City Police.

Laluzerne was arrested by Menominee County Sheriff's Department deputies when a deputy stopped a vehicle for erratic driving and suspicious behavior in Stephenson Township around 1 a.m. Sunday.

After being suspicious of the suspect's behavior and observing a handgun round on the driver's floorboard, the deputy called for backup. The driver was taken into custody after a loaded handgun was found in the vehicle.

Laluzerne, on probation in Wisconsin, was arrested by the sheriff's department for felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance and carrying a concealed weapon.

Laluzerne is scheduled for a preliminary examination in district court on all of the above charges on June 12.
