Local residents make a difference

June 2, 2012
Daily Press

This week's bouquets go to:

From Roy Sebeck of Gladstone:

"I would like to extend a big thank you to the Knights of Columbus for remembering your past members over Memorial Day. It truly means a lot to have flags present on the graves of members, including ones from my own family. Thank you for your appreciation!"

From Shirley Gollach, Bark River:

"A huge thank you to the Good Samaritan who returned my lost purse to Super One on Thursday. Your honesty and consideration are much appreciated."

From Geri Nelson, Chair of 2012 "Da' U.P. Ride for the Red:"

"I would like to send out a big thank you to all the motorcycle bikers, business sponsors, businesses who donated door prizes, volunteers who helped the day of the ride and to the wonderful committee I had again this year. Funds raised will help the Superior U.P. Chapter of the American Red Cross with the much needed services it provides to our community. Without all of your help the ride would not run as smoothly as it does each year and again I thank each and everyone of you from the bottom of my heart."

From the Brampton Volunteer Fire Department:

"We would like to thank all of the people that have donated to the annual fundraising rummage sale. The outpouring of support was excellent. We are still accepting donations until Sunday June 10. Please call for pick up to Don Flinn 428-4078 or Myra 553-7245."

Each Saturday the Daily Press salutes individuals and groups from our area who have had a very positive impact on the way we live.

We identify our bouquet recipients in one of two ways: from Daily Press news pages and from nominations sent in by our readers.

Mail us a postcard or letter identifying your nomination and putting into detail what they've done. Include your name, address, and phone number. Send nominations to Saturday Bouquets, The Daily Press, 600 Ludington Street, Escanaba, MI 49829.

They may also be sent to us by going to our Web site, www.dailypress.net, and clicking on the submit news button. Once there, click on "Bouquets" and follow the simple instructions.
