Marilyn Jean Beauchamp

HARRIS - Marilyn Jean "Andretti" (DeRouin) Beauchamp, 74, of Harris, passed away Monday, May 24, 2012, at Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba, Mich., surrounded by her family.

Marilyn, daughter of the late Arthur and Alice DeRouin, was born Aug. 8, 1937, in Escanaba, Mich., where she also grew up and attended school.

She married Norbert Beauchamp on Oct. 8, 1955, in Holland, Mich. They raised five children, and spent the past 40 years residing in Harris, Mich. Marilyn was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and great friend to all. Over the years, Marilyn enjoyed bowling, playing horseshoes, and going to her grandchildren's sporting events. She was an avid watcher of Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune, and she also enjoyed watching and reading many good murder mysteries. She also enjoyed music and dancing, and having a great time with her family. She was well known for her banana bread she made for many gatherings, and coming to Marilyn's house meant that you would never go hungry.

Marilyn is survived by her husband Norbert Beauchamp; two daughters, Connie (Randy) Stoykovich of Manistee, Mich., and Sheree (Bob) Smith of Bark River, Mich.; two sons, Steve (Mary) Beauchamp of Vulcan, Mich., and David (Debbie) Beauchamp of Iron Mountain, Mich.; 11 grandchildren, Jodi, Stacie, Sonja, Brock, Brent, Kevin, Chad, Nicole, Josh, Mark, and Tyler; three great-grandchildren, Kendelyne, Aiden, and Knox; sister, Lucille Cholger of Bark River, Mich.; two brothers, Arthur (Marie) DeRouin of Nevada, Texas, and John (Jeannine) DeRouin of Sheboygan, Wis.; many nieces and nephews, and special family friend, Thelma Ferry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Alice (LaChapelle) DeRouin; sister, Lorraine Fleetwood; and daughter, Denise Beauchamp.

Visitation for Marilyn will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, at Crawford Funeral Home in Bark River, Mich., with parish prayers at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Marilyn will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Anne Seton Parish in Bark River. Lunch will be served in the Parish hall following mass. Burial will take place at Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells, Mich. Crawford Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements and online condolences can be sent to the Beauchamp family at crawfordfuneral@chartermi.net.
