Sandra R. (Dahlquist) Goodyer

GLADSTONE - Sandra R. (Dahlquist) Goodyer, 68, of 7590 Summit 19.55 Drive in Gladstone passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2012, after an 18-year battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family, at her home in Gladstone.

She was born Sept. 12, 1943, in Escanaba and was the daughter of Raymond and Margaret (Morin) Morin. Sandy graduated from Escanaba High School in 1961.

The former Sandra Nyquist married David I. Dahlquist on Aug. 16, 1964, at Bethany Lutheran Church and he preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 1991.

Sandy was employed at the First National Bank in Escanaba, later as a clerk with the City of Escanaba and later at Credit Union and First Bank in Escanaba until her retirement.

Sandy married H.J. (Jim) Goodyer on May 28, 1994, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Escanaba.

She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church, served on the church council, the property and building committee at church and was a member of the church choir. She also enjoyed traveling, walking, bike riding and spending time with family and grandchildren.

Sandra R. (Dahlquist) Goodyer is survived by her husband, H.J. (Jim) Goodyer of Gladstone; children, Alisa (Mike) Madden of Gladstone, Todd Dahlquist of Green Bay, Wis., Traci (Tony) Harris of Bark River; stepchildren, Harold James Goodyer, III of Waukesha, Wis., Carole (Roy) Parish of Green Bay, Wis., Timothy Goodyer of Waukesha, Wis.; grandchildren, Gunnar Madden, Axel Madden, Wyatt Madden, Hannah Dahlquist, Sarah Dahlquist, Ashley Harris, David Harris, Melissa Goodyer, Courtney Parish and Kellen Parish; brother, Tom (Linda) Morin of Escanaba; sister, Barb (Al) Lord of Escanaba; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2012, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Sandra R. (Dahlquist) Goodyer will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at the Bethany Lutheran Church with Rev. Erik Heskin officiating. A luncheon will be served following the funeral services in the church fellowship hall.

Burial will take place in the Lakeview Cemetery.

Memorials can be directed to the Bethany Lutheran Church Music Fund or the Delta County Cancer Alliance. The Anderson Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements and online condolences can be sent to the family at www.andersonfuneralhomes.net.
