ESCANABA - Joyce E. Cook, 82, of 115 N. 20th St., Escanaba, passed away Monday, May 14, 2012, at Northwoods Assisted Living in Escanaba. She was born Nov. 22, 1929, in Escanaba, Mich., and was the daughter of Lawrence and Emily (Olson) Bruce. Joyce graduated from Escanaba High School in 1947. The former Joyce Bruce married Jay Cook on Dec. 11, 1948, at Salem Lutheran Church in Bark River and he preceded her in death on May 8, 2010. Joyce worked at L and L Trucking Company in Escanaba. She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church and she enjoyed bowling, golfing, walking, knitting, crocheting and playing the piano.
Joyce E. Cook is survived by: daughters, Shirley (Gary) Dubord of Bark River, Gayle (Roland) Breunig of Edgerton, Wis.; six grandchildren, Holly (Tom) Brimmer, Brad (Tracy Beaudo) Dubord, Scott (Debra) Breunig, Becky (Chris) Lobsinger, Megan (Michael) Hunt and Kara (Kevin) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Lauren and Rachel Breunig, Maggie, Leah and Cooper Lobsinger, Max Johnson, Cody Jay Dubord Gunville, Candace, Heather and Nicole Mlostek, Tommy Brimmer II, Nellyssa Brimmer, Jakob and Kodee Brimmer; great-great-grandchild, Caitlyn Beauchamp; brother, George Bruce of Battle Ground, Wash.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by daughter, Cynthia Jayne Cook; sister, Shirley Gasman; and brother, Ronald Bruce.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Memorial funeral services celebrating the life of Joyce E. Cook will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Erik Heskin officiating. A luncheon will be served following the funeral services at the Bethany Lutheran Church fellowship hall. Burial will take place in the Lakeview Cemetery.
