I'm all for helping the hungry. I've been there. I'm all for saving the U.S. Postal Service. At least I was.
Today I got a plastic bag printed by the USPS to put my food donations in. How many millions of dollars did this cost the Postal Service? How many millions of dollars did the Postal Service lose last week? Last year? Whose bright idea was this?
Every home has a bundle of plastic bags from Walmart, or one of the grocery stores. Millions go in to landfills every year.
I'm all for helping the food drive. We will once again donate to the less fortunate. I wish the Post Office had taken the money that went into buying those bags and bought some food with it.
