Carole Jeanne Nelson

RHINELANDER, Wis. - Carole Jeanne Nelson, 65, of Rhinelander, Wis., and formerly of Escanaba, passed away May 2, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital, Rhinelander. The former Carole Chaudoir was born to the late George and Christine (Meixensperger) Chaudoir on Feb. 7, 1947, in Milwaukee.

Carole attended Bay de Noc Community College and then spent her professional career working for the U.S. Forest Service in both Escanaba and Rhinelander. Since retiring, Carole spent time volunteering at St. Joseph's Thrift Shop in Rhinelander. She also enjoyed reading, doing crafts, shopping and spending time with her family and friends.

Carole is survived by her children, Kristine (Dale) McMillan of Cape Coral, Fla., and Justin (Debra) Nelson of Glendale, Ariz..; grandchildren, Mariah Riffel, Trevor Nelson and Clare McMillan; brother, Michael (Gayle) Chaudoir of Escanaba; sisters, Mary (Dennis) Livermore of Marinette and Patricia (Richard) Salo of Grand Rapids; many nieces and nephews and special friends. She will be remembered with love and missed by all.

Friends may call at Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba on Tuesday, May 8, from 9 to 9:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph and St. Patrick's Church at 10 a.m.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Holy Name School in her name.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Nelson family.
