GLADSTONE - Margaret Berg of Gladstone went to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 22, 2012.

Margaret, who reached her 100th birthday on Tuesday, March 6, greeted family and friends at her centennial celebration on Saturday, March 24.

No one was a stranger to Margaret. Give her a minute and a cup of coffee, and she could find a common thing to talk about with you.

Margaret was always ready to share a laugh or a card game. She was a good cook who could make gravy from anything. She was industrious and crafty. She could knit, crochet, and embroider. Her handiwork can be found in the homes of all of her children and grandchildren.

Family was the foundation and focus of Margaret's life. Raised with 10 brothers and sisters, she nurtured connections with all of their descendants. Together with her husband, the late Einar Berg, Margaret lovingly raised two daughters, Shirla (the late Ross) Sullinger and Marilyn (Leonard) Solis.

Margaret delighted in being a grandmother to Christina Meyer, the late Patrick Sullinger, Kim Jackson, Melissa Buehler, Julie Sullinger, and Sarah Hanson.

Her great-grandchildren, Corey Norton, Cody Norton, Erik Buehler, Iain Buehler, Elizabeth Buehler, Lenny Hanson, Jade Jackson, and Charlie Hanson brought her great joy.

Margaret Berg was a constant in the lives of her family. She was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.

Margaret's family will receive friends on Thursday, April 26, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Margaret Berg will follow at 5 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathan Schmidt of the First Lutheran Church officiating. Luncheon will follow at the Fairview Manor in Gladstone.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone.
