Taking issue with Obama

EDITOR:

These are troubling times for many U.S. citizens. There are some difficult issues that are not being adequately handled by the Obama administration. Obamacare, the price of gas, Obama selecting some industries to invest our tax dollars, and Obama's call to Miss Fluke and to the Martin family are enough for this letter.

The Supreme Court is holding hearings on Obamacare and we won't hear its opinion until about June. The make up of the court is that four justices believe that the Constitution is our guiding light, and four believe that the Constitution has to be changed as it is old and obsolete. So, it will be up to Justice Kennedy to decide how the case will go. From what I have been able to discover is that one justice worked on getting the bill written. In all fairness she should rescue herself. But she won't because that is why Obama got her on the bench.

As the price of gas at the pump goes up, Obama has dragged his feet for over the three years he has been in the White House. Getting gas prices up to what Europeans are paying seems to be his goal. Of course Obama misses the key point in the argument. We have abundant sources of energy, whereas Europe does not. But Obama keeps making that stupid argument that we use 20 percent of the world's oil supply but only have 2 percent of the reserves. however, he does take credit for the increased oil production taking place in our country. Of course he leaves out the reason why North Dakota and other places are producing more oil. They have benefited from states allowing them to drill. One thing Obama does well is to hand out difficult problems to his subordinates. On the Keystone pipeline it was Hillary Clinton who said that the State Department was not ready to approve the pipeline.

Obama has thrown a lot of our tax dollars at solar companies that get a lot of our tax dollars and then go bankrupt. Sharyl Attkisson of CBS News cited at least 12 companies that have received over $6.5 billion of our tax dollars. Solyndra, Beacon, Evergreen Solar, Spectra Watt, and AES have filed for bankruptcy. Obama's comment "hindsight is always 20-20" but the administration had warnings about these companies. One other aspect of this failure of the Obama administration is that many of the investors of these companies gave big sums to Obama's election campaign.

In a still-free society one can call any one he or she wants. Sanda Fluke is quite puzzling. Fluke's problem is that her abundant sex life is costing her about $3,000 and she wants us taxpayers to contribute our money before she declares bankruptcy or whatever. Of course she could get whatever she needs at Walmart for about $10 a month. So at this price it would cost her about $360 dollars for her extra curricular activities for her three years there. I read somewhere that Georgetown Law costs about $45,000 a year plus about $15,000 for room and board. Another call Obama made was to the Martin family after the tragic incident in Sanford, Fla. Again he is free to call anybody, but it is a bit disturbing that neither Obama nor Holder have called the families of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry and ICE Agent Jamie Zapata. They were killed by drug cartel members who used guns supplied by our government. Since there was political gain for the calls to Fluke and the Martins, those were goods calls. But the gun-running operation was a loser. So forget about it.
