I read Danny Hanson's letter about 30 thousand dollars.
I couldn't believe, a town would sell their own power source. This makes us dependent on super power grids from out of state. Putting us dependent on them for all future electric needs. To put our dependency on them seems unreal. If these super grids should ever fail the whole U.S. could lose power. Yet Escanaba would stay lit. All because we own our own power plant. Yes our plant needs a lot of repairs, but seems to me that $30 million should handle it, if spent right. By keeping our own power source, our bills stay down and payable, we stay independent from big company take over, and now days being independent mean more than it ever has, the way this world is going... Stay free and I'd like to add I wish our local leaders would one of these years hire local folks to run our small city instead of always hiring folks from below the bridge who know nothing about a small towns needs in the U.P. hire local U.P. folks... thanks.
