Vernon "Butch" Noel, left, adjutant of the Little Lake American Legion Post 349, presents a check for $500 from the Little Lake American Legion Post to Pat Laine, a member of the Board of Directors of the American Legion Wilwin Lodge located in Trout Lake. Wilwin Lodge, which is owned and operated by the Michigan American Legion, provides free rest and recuperation vacations for service members returning from war and their families.The presentation was made at the Mid-Winter conference of the Upper Peninsula Association of American Legion Posts held at the Gladstone American Legion Post 71 on Jan. 20.
