EDITOR:
While I was watching the State of the Union address these thoughts came to me.
During the history of America, many thousands of men have given up their lives to give the people of the United States of America freedom of choice in the way they live and think.
People fought against foreign governments that were determined to control and change our way of life. Now we are facing our own United States government who wants to change our way of life and join our European friends down the road to socialism.
It is very difficult to understand how people in our government can close their eyes to what is happening. There have to be officials that know we must change our direction if we want to maintain the way we live and have lived.
It is even more difficult to understand how the American people cannot recognize that we are being lead down the wrong path for the future of our country.
I hope and pray that the Tea Party can help show the average citizen that we must change our present direction or suffer the consequences. I hope the Tea Party has the guts and determination to stay strong and get stronger in 2012 to help save this great nation.
