BARK RIVER - Gina Lynn Bower, 46, 992 15.5 Road, Bark River, passed away early Wednesday morning, Feb.8, 2012 at her home following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Temple, Texas, on April 27, 1965, to Michael J. and Donna Mae (Erickson) Degnan. Gina was raised in Ford River and attended Escanaba schools, graduating in 1983. She received her EMT license from Bay de Noc Community College.
On May 17, 1986, Gina Lynn Degnan married Robert Bower at St. Anne's Church in Escanaba.
Gina was an EMT at Rampart for two years. Her true passion was A Marker Place & the Barn Yard.
She loved knitting, crocheting, camping, and babysitting. Gina loved being outdoors and enjoyed cutting the grass. She enjoyed high school sports, football, NASCAR racing and loved helping others.
Gina was an active member of the Heart of the North Lions Club, she was the coordinator of the SHARE program in Escanaba. She also taught knitting, crocheting and felting.
Among her survivors include her husband, Robert of Bark River; two sons, Dave (Katie Gilmiester) of West Bend, Wis., and Jordan Bower of Bark River; two granddaughters, Arabella Gilmiester and Savanna Bower; her parents, Michael and Donna Degnan of Escanaba; siblings, Michelle (Rich) Howe of Kingsford, Scott (Karen) Degnan of Escanaba, and Kelli (Al) Danz of Escanaba; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be on Sunday, Feb. 12, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Bark River. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Anne's Church in Escanaba with Rev. Fran DeGroot officiating. A meal will follow in the church hall.
Burial will be in the Bark River Cemetery.
The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Bower family with arrangements.
