ESCANABA - Amber Nolde and Jay Hays became husband and wife during a ceremony held at Holy Family Parish in Gladstone on Nov. 12. Rev. Jose Maramattam presided over the 12:30 p.m. nuptials.
A reception in honor of the newlyweds took place at the Island Resort and Casino.
Sarah Scott, a friend of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were April Stropich, a friend of the bride, and Lindsey Nolde, sister of the bride. The flower girl was Alexis Marenger, cousin of the groom.

Standing as best man was Joe Wiltzius, a friend of the groom. Groomsmen included Chris Sealander, a friend of the groom, and Chad Hays, brother of the groom. Ring bearer was Ryan LaMarche, cousin of the bride.
Seating the guests were Mike Nolde, cousin of the bride, and Jon Kovar, a friend of the bride and groom.
The bride is the daughter of Debbie and Joe Nolde of Escanaba. Amber graduated from Escanaba High school in 2004 and went on to earn a degree in elementary education from Northern Michigan University. She currently teaches third grade at Mid Peninsula School in Rock.
The son of Gerald and Diane Hays, Jay is a 2003 graduate of Escanaba High School. He is in the process of completing his welding certificate at Bay de Noc Community College. Jay is employed for A-1 Water Systems.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Hays reside in Escanaba and are planning a delayed honeymoon to Mexico in May.
