ESCANABA - Ashley Jo Briggs and Andrew Eugene Zambon were joined in marriage on July 30 during a wedding ceremony that took place at the Salvation Army in Escanaba. The ceremony was officiated by Major Bill Cox.
The newlyweds are the children of Joe and Cherie Briggs of Bark River and Eugene and Ginger Zambon of Pensacola, Fla.
Maid of honor for the bride was her sister, Emily Briggs. Bridesmaids were: Jamie Pirlot, friend of the bride; and Mistie Duwe, Amber Duwe, Kaylie Cossette, all cousins of the bride. The bride's cousins, Sydney deBoer and Rhianna Duwe, served as junior bridesmaids.

Standing as best men for the groom were his brothers, Jesse and David Zambon. Groomsmen were Mike Haydo, Johnny Vandezande, and Dan Wolf, all friends of the groom. The bride's brother, Jace Briggs, served as the junior groomsman.
Enya Dahn, the bride's "Little Sister," and the bride's cousins, Jasmine Tague and Mariah Wellman, served as flower girls. The bride's cousins, Jaydon and Liryk Duwe, served as the miniature bride and groom. Keaton Hammond, the bride and groom's godson, was the ring bearer.
Musicians performing at the wedding were: Betty Seger, friend of the bride and groom; Emily Briggs, sister of the bride; and Brian Hammond, uncle of the bride. Scripture and poetry were read by Amy Wellman and Brenda Duwe, aunts of the bride. Seating the wedding guests as ushers were Alex Wellman, cousin of the bride, and Jake Zeugner, friend of the groom.
Ashley graduated from Bark River-Harris High school in 2007 and from Bay de Noc Community College in 2008 with an associate's degree. She is soon to graduate from Northern Michigan University with a bachelor's degree in elementary special education.
Andy is a 2006 BR-H graduate. He attended Bay College and is pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering technology from Northern. He is currently employed at Bald Eagle Harley Davidson in Marquette.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Zambon honeymooned in DisneyWorld, and now reside in Marquette.
