WYANDOTTE, Mich. - Katie Vallie became the bride of Kevin Dufresne during an Aug. 6 ceremony at St. Joseph's Church in Wyandotte. Rev. Michael Cremin presided over the 1 p.m. ceremony.
A reception in honor of the newlyweds was held at the Flat Rock Community Center.
Serving as maid of honor for her sister was Amy Vallie. Bridesmaids were Sarah Henige, sister of the bride; Deanna Hamilton and Donna Fleming, friends of the bride; and Sarah Clark, sister of the groom.

Best man was Greg Stromberg, friend of the groom. Standing as groomsmen were friends of the groom, Tim Gorenchan, Matt Prey, Josh Mattonen and John Froberg.
Seating the wedding guests were Nick Kropog, Kevin Kropog and Chris Kropog, cousins of the bride.
Katie is the daughter of Robert and Terese Vallie of Wyandotte. She is a graduate of Gabriel Richard Catholic High School and a 2007 graduate of Wayne State University with a bachelor's degree in education. She is a substitute teacher in the Gibraltar School District.
Kevin graduated from Escanaba High School and from Northern Michigan University. In 2008 he was awarded a master's degree in education leadership from Central Michigan University. He is the principal at St. Mary's School in Rockwood. Kevin is the son of Robert and Patricia Dufresne of Escanaba and the grandson of Margaret Gryzb of Bark River and Helen Dufresne of Escanaba.
Following a honeymoon in the Turks and Caicos Island, the couple is making their home in Lincoln Park, Mich.
