Anita ‘Neetsie’ Paradise

MANISTIQUE - Lifetime Manistique area resident Anita "Neetsie" Paradise, 60, of 10246W State Highway M-149, Cooks, died Oct. 30, 2011, at her home.

She was born Aug. 27, 1951, in Manistique and attended schools in Manistique.

On Nov. 9, 1968, she married David P. Paradise in Manistique. They made their home and raised their family in the Manistique area.

Anita was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church of Manistique. She enjoyed playing bingo, camping and baking and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, David of Cooks; daughters, Kelli (John) Stapleton of Cooks and Jaime (Travis Harvey) Paradise of Garden; grandchildren, Jordan, Kelsi, Holli, Lexi, Riley and Tatum; brother, Gary (Julie) Schuetter of Manistique; and mother-in-law, Lila Paradise of Manistique.

She was preceded in death by her son, David Paradise Jr.; mother, Eunice Schuetter; and father-in-law, Orville Paradise.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the Fairview Cemetery at Manistique with Deacon Gilbert Sablack officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Sault Ste. Marie Tribal Center.

The Messier-Broullire Funeral Home in Manistique is assisting the family with the arrangements.
