Mattson treated unfairly

October 1, 2011
Daily Press

EDITOR:

How about some investigative reporting instead of just repeating news releases and comments? After reading that Rory Mattson is facing penalties for trying to help out individuals improve their property with herbicides, seeds, etc. I am disgusted.

Who is behind this heavy hand? If the DNR knew and approved what was going on, who in their department will face the same penalty? Who initiated the complaint, who signed and approved the administrative penalty? We need names. These people need to made famous for the wonderful service they have provided us by saving us from what could have been a horrible tragedy.

I have heard numerous complaints on the DNR's behavior in recent months and years, and did not know whether there was much truth to the complaints, but now it appears all the worst is true.

Investigate and report on all parties involved from beginning to end, don't just repeat statements from some "spokesperson" who can deny any responsibility or involvement. As Edmund Burke said "evil flourishes when good men do nothing."

If the people responsible for this act are proud of what they have done, they should have no problem standing in the limelight and accepting their accolades for putting the evil Mr. Mattson in his place.
