ESCANABA - Karina Kobasic and James Humpula, together with their parents, announce their engagement to be married.
The daughter of Michael and Cheryl Kobasic of Gladstone, Karina is a 1999 graduate of Escanaba Area High School. She graduated in 2005 from Grand Valley State University where she earned a bachelor's degree in English and Spanish.
James is the son of Roger and Terry Humpula of Gladstone. He graduated in 2000 from Gladstone High School and received a bachelor's degree in geology from Michigan State University in 2004. In 2006, he was awarded a master's degree in Paleoproteomics from Michigan State.
