Quick action helped prevent Escanaba fire

April 23, 2011
Daily Press

This week's bouquets go to:

From Maynard and Marlene Robbins, managers of Willow Creek Apartments:

"We would like to send a thank you bouquet to Gary McMahon and Troy Snowaert for their efforts in alerting a resident and putting out a fire at Willow Creek Apartments in February.

"If Gary would not have acted quickly, the fire may have gotten away but he put it out before the fire department arrived and Troy alerted the resident living in the apartment that the fire was set in front of."

From Rosie Krall, prop chairperson, Garden

"I would like to thank all the business and individuals who donated props for Big Bay de Noc's Drama Club school play, 'Foot Loose.'"

Each Saturday the Daily Press salutes individuals and groups from our area who have had a very positive impact on the way we live.

We identify our bouquet recipients in one of two ways: from Daily Press news pages and from nominations sent in by our readers.

Mail us a postcard or letter identifying your nomination and putting into detail what they've done. Include your name, address, and phone number. Send nominations to Saturday Bouquets, The Daily Press, 600 Ludington Street, Escanaba, MI 49829.
